Dear RelationshipLIST users,

We've finished version 4.0 ... and we have spent the past month focused on improving the speed of RelationshipLIST and eliminating all remaining "quirks" and "bugs". As of today, we are not aware of any more of them. I hope you've noticed and enjoyed the fruits of our efforts (we'd love to have your feedback).

However, you may use RelationshipLIST differently from how we TEST it. PLEASE tell us if you run into any issues at all, or anything that seems to be a "bug" or "quirk". Just click on the "Contact Us" link at the top right of every window. We want to make this software work perfectly for you, so you will be confident referring RelationshipLIST to your fellow Buffini-ites.

And, please continue to send your ideas for Version 5.0 (release date not scheduled yet). We have a long list of ideas already, and we value your input greatly.

You'll Like This One: Instant CAP Letter - 07/08/2008

Dear RelationshipLIST Friends,

When you go to the Create/Edit Letter window, you will find a button that says "July CAP Cover Letter". When you click it, the fully-edited CAP letter will appear in your editor (replacing your previous letter). Check it to see if you need to make any minor edits, and YOU'RE DONE. That's it!

I thought to myself, "If we're going to the effort of doing this ourselves each month, why should all our users have to do it also?" So, now you don't. We'll have the current CAP letter available by the 20th of each month (for the following month).

Remember, we rely on your referrals... if you like what RL is doing for you, please send us the names and phone numbers of other Buffini-ites whom you think would benefit from RL. We'll take good care of them for you.

MORE RelationshipLIST Upgrades - 06/19/2008

Hi Everyone,

More upgrades today! (We are nearing the end of our programming for "RelationshipLIST v. 4.0" , and many of these ideas came from users like YOU):

1. You can now print the contents of the Client Detail page (the button is on the upper right). You'll get all the Contact Information, Notes, the last five Proactive Activities, the next five Reminders to Contact, and all Active Transactions for that client.

2. The TextSearch function at the top of the main Proactive Activities window will now search the Proactive Activity Notes, and the answers to the Client Q&A.

3. The Proactive Activity Notes will now "word wrap" after you add an activity.

4. For all users, if the "Last Name" field was empty, we have inserted the "Company Name" so you can see it in the main Proactive Activity window. We've also copied the first and last name of all contacts into the "Contact Name" fields of the Referral Directory tab in the Client Detail window.

REMEMBER, the ONLY way we market RelationshipLIST is via YOUR referrals. If RelationshipLIST has been helping you with your business and if you've been enjoying your "A+ Pricing", we need your referrals. Just give us a call or an email with the names and phone numbers of Realtors, Lenders, Financial Services professionals, etc., who you think would enjoy this product. We will tell them how much we appreciate your trust, and offer to explain RelationshipLIST to them if they are interested. RelationshipLIST Upgrades - 06/18/2008

Hi Everyone,

We implemented several upgrades again this morning:

1. In the Client Detail window, you will see Client Q&A for Primary and Spouse. If you click there, you will see a list of questions to ask your best clients, as suggested by Brian. You can print this list to bring it to lunches and meetings, then enter the answers into the boxes to save them in RelationshipLIST. Please read the Q&A FAQs at the top right of the Q&A window. Also in the Client Detail window, you will see that we have made the inactive tabs a darker grey so it is easier to see which are active, and we've also put the field names in the contact information fields to eliminate confusion about what information goes where.

2. In the Modify Mailing List window, you can now view the email addresses of your clients (useful when you are sending an email instead of a printed letter). You can also save the current mailing list as a group, so you can mail to that group any time in the future without re-creating the mailing list from sratch. Finally, in that same window, if you click the Excel icon at the upper right, you can download the mailing list as an excel file (useful for users who send their mailings to a third party for envelope preparation).

RL Update: Referrer Status Categories - 06/06/2008

Dear RelationshipLIST Friends,

We will be making a small change on Monday morning to reduce the size of some of the "Referrer Status" category names. We are finding that some mobile devices cannot handle more than 15 characters. This will only affect you if you are synchronizing RL with your phone, and you will notice that your Outlook will take a few minutes to recognize and synchronize with the change when you first open it.

"A+ (Sent 2+ Closed)" WILL BE CHANGED TO "A+ (2+ Closed)"
"A (Has Referred)" WILL BE CHANGED TO "A (Referrer)"
"Potential Member" WILL BE CHANGED TO "Potential"

User Defined Groups and More Upgrades - 06/02/2008

Dear RelationshipLIST Friends,

Great News! We implemented several important upgrades today.

IF YOU EXPERIENCE ANY BUG-LIKE SYMPTOMS, first try refreshing the current window, or logging out then back in again, because the problem may be caused by old files that are “saved” on your computer from the previous version of RelationshipLIST.

As with any new feature, certain combinations of computers and internet browsers may experience issues, so please call us immediately if you experience a problem. Here are the upgrades:

1. USER-DEFINED GROUPS: Want to create a Group to identify your Investor clients? Or those who you need to Pop-By this month? Or those that will need their mailing in Spanish? You can create these in the new Groups tab inside the client detail window. Then, in any Main Window (Proactive Activities, Transactions, or Referral Directory), choose a Group from the User-Defined Groups pull-down menu, and use the check-boxes in the “G” column to add or remove clients from that group. Clients can belong to multiple Groups, and you can now create mailing lists by Groups.

2. TEXT SEARCH: Need to find a client named “Jerry”, but can’t think of his last name? Want a list of all clients in the “27613” area code so you plan Pop-Bys? Want to know which client belongs to phone number “555-123-4567”? Enter any word or combination of two words in the TextSearch box in the upper right corner of the main Proactive Activities window and click “Go”. RelationshipLIST will search all Name, Address, Notes, and Referral Directory tab field in the client detail window and display a list of all records containing that word or combination of words.

3. EMAIL TO MAILING LIST: Want to send a quick email with an attachment to your new Investors Group or to all your A+’s and A’s inviting them to your client party? Create your mailing list using Referrer Status or Groups, then click the “Send as Email” button in the Mailings | Create & Print Letters window and follow the instructions.

4. “STICKY REMEMBER ME”: If you check the “Remember me” box upon entering your User ID and Password at the login window, RelationshipLIST will automatically log you in each time you return to RL, even if you have previously logged out. To tell RL not to remember you next time, enter your User ID and Password, then uncheck the “Remember me” box, then click “Login”.

RelationshipLIST Server Move - 05/01/2008

Dear RelationshipList Users,

You may not have even noticed, but we moved RelationshipLIST to a new server. You should not need to do anything differently, just log in the same way you always have. If you get an error when you try to get to the site, type the following address manually: www.relationshiplist.biz. (That's the new domain name on the new server).

I surely hope that will permanently fix the speed issue.

We copied your data from the old server at 8:37 AM EST and activated the new server at 9:12 AM EST. It is possible that if you entered data between those times, you may need to enter it again. All data added before 8:37 AM or after 9:12 AM will be fine.

Please tell me if you see a speed improvement, or if you see any bugs or glitches, so we can address them immediately.

Speed & User-Defined Categories - 04/24/2008

Dear RelationshipLIST Users,

I wanted to let you know our current priorities:

(1) Improve Speed Dramatically. We still have a lot of room for improvement on speed. I just hired an additional full-time developer to make big improvements in this area. Thank you for hanging in there with us. You are truly A+ Advocates.

(2) "User-Defined Categories". My other developer is working on adding "User-Defined Categories". For example, you will be able to define a category called "April Pop-Bys", and assign 40 people (10 per week, right?) to that category and check them off as you go. Or, another example, define a category "St. Patricks Day Party 2008" for everyone who attended your party.

Small Fix - 04/23/2008

Dear RelationshipLIST Users,

Based on feedback from yesterday, we have made one small change. Before we made the speed improvements, it was possible to enter a Proactive Activity, and then save it by clicking the "Finished" button, making it unecessary to click the "Add" button. Several users wished they still had that ability. Now you have it back again.

You will now be able to enter a Proactive Activity, then click "Finish", without clicking "Add", and your Proactive Activity will be saved, as it worked before.

We made this update at 8:02AM EST, so if you got "kicked out" of the system temporarily, that is why. We normally do updates before 6:00 AM EST, but we wanted you to have this one immediately.

RelationshipLIST Speed Upgrade - 04/22/2008

Dear RelationshipLIST Users,

After much programming and testing, we uploaded several speed improvements today. This was a big job, and it required "taking apart and putting back together" much of the programming, so as much as we've tested there may be a few little quirks, even after a week of "live" testing with our "beta users group". Please let us know if you notice any issues.

You should notice significant improvement in the speed to open records (either via double-clicking of "Open Client" box). Also, it should be faster to Add Proactive Acitivities. Also, the PA report should update every 60 seconds, or when you click the new "Update" button on that report. We will be working on other speed improvements ASAP.

RelationshipList Upgrade - 04/02/2008

Dear RelationshipList Users,

Still working on speed, but one other high-priority project was finished and tested today.

We have invested in another server, in a different part of the country from the first server on which your "live" data is kept and on which RelationshipList runs. This second server gets a complete duplicate of your data every night at 4AM EST, and is ready to run by 6AM EST each morning. The purpose of this server? If a disaster strikes our "live" production server (in Arizona), we can have you up and running again in seconds (on the new backup server in Washington state) with all your data from the previous day. No downtime. If such a disaster DOES happen, we would send an email to you all with the new internet address, and all you need to do is logon as usual, and start working. NOTE that the host company claims 99.999% uptime on their servers, so we don't have any reason to believe we'd ever have a problem. But as Brian says, "Your database is your fortune", and I want your fortune (and mine) to be well-protected, and access to it uninterrupted.

If you are a GeniusConnect user (the software we use to synchronize your PDAs with RelationshipList), we would send you simple instructions to reconfigure your GC settings (otherwise GC would be looking for your data in the wrong place). That will take you less than five minutes. Everything else about RelationshipList would work fine, but synchronization would be disabled until you change the settings.

Relationship Speed Update - 03/31/2008

I wrote the other day that our developers are working on speeding up RelationshipList, and they showed me how they could make it 30% faster today, although we did not upload these improvements to the "live" site yet because so many people were logged on (we do uploads in the middle of the night). I asked them to keep working on it because they always think of better ideas, and I am confident they'll make it dramatically faster. Hopefully tonight we'll upload some improvements to the "live" site for you.

Vendor Referral Contact Info Email - 03/17/2008

Dear RelationshipList Users,

We made a nice update today. When you send a referral to one of your vendors (to learn how, watch movie in Referral Directory tab of the vendor's Client Detail window), there is now a "Send email" checkbox. If that box is checked when you click "Add", a new window will pop up with an email, addressed to both the vendor and the client, with both of their contact information in the body. You can edit the email before you send it. Hope you find it as helpful as I will!

We'll be working to update all the movies with all the enhancements this week.
